The Diploma in Computer Science and UK Higher National Diploma in Computing and Systems Development programme are designed to give students a strong foundation in computer technologies, the Internet and networking, database administration and programming with the aim of preparing students to become a competent professional in computer science with strong technical and analytical skills.

Computer Science is the systematic study of the feasibility, structure, expression, and mechanisation of the methodical procedures that underlie the acquisition, representation, processing, storage, communication and access to information.

Students are assessed via continuous assignments, tutorials, industrial training and written examinations culminating with a final year project. Assessment for BTEC Higher National Diploma will solely be assignments based.

The above programme modules are for Newbridge Diploma. These modules will be adapted for the UK Higher National Diploma
SPM / O-Level 3 credits (Grade C or above) including Mathematics
UEC3 credits (Grade C or above) including Mathematics and a pass in English
STPMPass STPM (Grade C or above) in any subjects and
credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its Equivalent.
Certificate Level 3 (MQF) Pass certificate with credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent
Other Equivalent Qualifications1. Candidates without credit in Mathematics at SPM level
may be considered if the certificate programme consists of
Mathematics which is equivalent to Mathematics at SPM level.

2. Candidate with credit in any computing related subjects at SPM level
or its equivalent may be given consideration.
English Language Proficiency requirements

1. International English Language Testing System (IELTS): Overall grade of 5.5 with a minimum of 5.0 in Reading and Writing subtests

Career prospects

The broad foundation and robust computing skills honed through the completion of the Diploma in Computer Science prepares student for a wide range of career such as computer programmer, IT administration assistant, data processing assistant and system support specialist.

Progression to degree programmes
The Diploma and UK Higher National Diploma in Computing and Systems Development enable students to progress to second year Bachelor degree courses in related fields at selected local universities or universities in Australia and the United Kingdom.
