BTEC Higher National Diploma in Business (Accounting and Finance)

The Diploma in Accounting and BTEC Higher National Diploma in Business (Accounting and Finance) are designed to prepare students for a rewarding career in accounting, business and finance. Accounting or accountancy is often called the “language of business”. It involves the measurement, processing and communication of financial information about economic entities. Accountants develop skills to measure the results of an organisation’s economic activities and convey this information to a variety of users including investors, creditors, management and regulators.

The Diplomas expose students to key accounting, management and finance areas of economic entities through a variety of core subjects within the syllabus. Assignments and tutorials throughout the programme develop the student’s practical accounting and communication skills, and finance decision-making capabilities.

Students are assessed via continuous assignments, tutorials, and written examinations culminating with a final year project. Assessment for BTEC Higher National Diploma will be by assignments only.
